Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone

The fantasy film is based on the novel of the same name by J. K. Rowling and is the first among the popular Harry Potter films series. Apart from receiving positive critical perception, the film made excess profits worldwide and won several awards. The film is one of the highest grosser of its time.

The story is about a small boy, Harry Potter, who discovers that he is a wizard. He then makes his way to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to take up magical education. Daniel Radcliffe plays Harry Potter along with Rupert Grint and Emma Watson playing his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger respectively.

The feel of the movie maintains what the audiences were expecting. However, it is difficult to cover every minute detail of the book in the film so it leaves the viewers a little unsatisfied. The humor in the film retains the magic of the book and has the desired effect. The film has been kept classy and tasteful. The voice acting is outstanding and the physical acting is equally excellent.

Daniel Radcliffe suits the role well and has the mannerisms and charm of Harry. Rupert has played Ron equally well by hitting the comic lines brilliantly. His comic timing is worth appreciating and way beyond his age. The dialogues are intensely measured and the colors chosen are suitably epic. The selection of the scenes to be omitted has been measured and well studied. Overall, the movie retains the magic of the book leaving the viewer wanting for more.
