X-Men: The Last Stand

The film is the third film in the X-Men series and is a superhero film. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the film was a financial success at the box office. It is one of the record highest grossing films for opening day and opening weekend. The film is the final battle and features all of the X-Men characters.

The story revolves around a cure for mutation developed by Worthington Labs and the U.S government. However this poses threat to the mutant community and Magneto, the leader of the brotherhood along with Phoenix decides to stop those against them. At the same time, X-Men try to stop Magneto from killing people and safeguard them from getting scared of humanity.

The film is the most comic one in the trilogy. The film has several strong parts which collectively strengthen the story. The film is colorful, fast paced and melodramatic and has several interesting segments distributed along the film which make it all the more interesting. The film has many subplots and is stuffed with characters which make it seem a little hurried in execution. Even with all this complexity, the film retains simplicity and interest.

The climax offering a cure to mutancy brings a choice for the mutants for the first time. They are to choose between retaining uniqueness and stay alienated or give up their powers and live as humans. It is a fantastic film fully loaded with special effects and a roller coaster ride for the youngsters.
